Ciscomani family

Luigia Cecco

1874-1952 · Zoppola, Italy

Biography

Mother of Herminio. She married Giovanni Cismaconi in Zoppola in 1896, as the town's ten-year marriage index shows. The Zoppola birth registers of 1899 and 1902 and the passenger lists of 1907 and 1913 call her Luigia Cecco, wife of Giovanni; the birth acts appear to name her father as Costante. She too came to Sonora: when Giovanni died in Hermosillo in January 1951, the death entry names her, as María Luisa Cecco de Ciscomani, as his surviving wife.

A user tree gives her as Luisa Cecco Petri, born about 1874 and died 1952.

Giovanni Cismaconi, son of the late Tomaso, 33, farmer, domiciled in Zoppola, declares the birth of a boy named Erminio at 8 a.m. on the 28th, to his wife Luigia Cecco, daughter of Costante (reading of her father's name uncertain). Most Zoppola men on the same page were also bound for Madera.

  • NARA T715, roll 2174, lines 9 and 10; both manifest pages viewed on FamilySearch. The entry pairs 'Cismaconi Giovanni' with 'Cecco Luigia', year 1896, act 21 (the act number could also read 28). The 1896 marriage register itself was not found on film 008622762, and the 1896 banns register (acts 3-22) has no entry for the couple, so the act should be requested from the Comune di Zoppola.
